Summer 2020 must have been very different from summer 2019. The most obvious difference in our patch is that all events that took place in physical premises are now taking place virtually, with both the Pokemon Go Fest and the Google Indie Games Festival takes place in the abstract world of ones and zeros rather than a sweaty convention center.

The change apparently didn’t hurt them, however, and there was even some positive news in the form of a $ 1 million donation to Doctors Without Borders, along with juicy tidbits of news. All in all, a good week.

Meteorfall: Krumit’s Tale is the highly anticipated mobile sequel to Meteorfall: Journey, a cartoon card game. Available on Steam now, with an average rating of 9/10, Meteorfall: Krumit’s Tale is currently on Google Play for pre-registration.

Tides of Oblivion is billed as the biggest chunk of Pascal’s Wager DLC to date. Set in an aquatic environment with its own villains and a new hero to control, Tides of Oblivion will be released on August 20. It will cost you $ 2.99. Pascal’s bet, meanwhile, is still offered at the introductory price of $ 3.99.

A few months ago, this game company – the legendary studio behind Journey and Flower – announced that it would be raising funds for Doctors Without Borders through a downloadable content called Days of Healing. The results are there, the team handing over a million dollars to intrepid clinicians.

Google’s annual indie game festival has come to an end, under significantly more strained circumstances than last year’s event. There are separate winners in three different regions – Europe, South Korea, and Japan – and the top spots went to titles like Gigafall, Cookies Must Die, and Heroes Restaurant, among others.

Starting August 17, a three-week Summoner Showdown event will take place in Marvel Contest of Champions. It will be a series of boss fights, against opponents as formidable as the Silver Surfer and the basically invincible Captain Marvel. Good luck with that.

Like many annual events, this year’s Pokemon Go was a drastically different affair. Statistics are from the festival online alone, with over 1 billion Pokémon captured, 55 million gifts sent, and 58 million Team Go Rocket members defeated.

Catalyst Black is the highly anticipated next title from Super Evil Megacorp, the studio behind the MOBA hit Vainglory. It will enter Early Access on August 12, which means some players will be able to taste the fun of team shooting ahead of full release.

As the 19/20 British football season draws to a close, the next episode of the Soccer Manager series is online for pre-registration on the Google Play Store. It promises a rich management engine, 3D matches, realistic economy and more, all for free.


Mario Kart Tour’s final tour takes place in the Wild West. It includes the classic Kalimari Desert 2 track from Mario Kart 64, as well as a handful of new racers and gliders. It runs until August 12.
