Battlepalooza is a Battle Royale set in real-world cities, coming to mobile on December 10

Battlepalooza, from the Animoca nWay affiliate, is a cartoony battle royale in which combat takes place in various real-world cities. It is due to arrive on December 10th.

Unlike super-competitive battle royales like PUBG Mobile and Fortnite, Battlepalooza is aimed at casual gamers who have no interest in honing their reaction times and aiming skills.

The action is viewed from the top down and the gameplay incorporates elements from the RPG and MOBA genres to broaden its appeal. Strategy, skill and luck all play their part (rather than just skills).

The player count is more refined than you might be used to in a battle royale too, with 24 players going head to head (head to head) instead of the usual 100. Two team modes allow players to gather in groups of 12 or eight.

The game’s selection of gear and weapons includes Gravity Bomb, Cannon Bots, Invisibility Gear, Drones, Warp Potions, Barricades, and more.

Battlepalooze was developed in conjunction with the Google Real-Wprld Games team (ie the press release) and uses data from Google Maps to replicate cities like Las Vegas and San Francisco. Others will be added on a “rolling basis”.

You can pre-register for Battlepalooza now on the Google Play Store.
