Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins is a ‘Found Phone’ game featuring fan favorite characters and locations

Maze Theory and BBC Studios have announced the release of two Doctor Who-based games in the spring of 2021. And one of them is a mobile title.

Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins is developed by Kaigan Games, the studio behind the award-winning Simulacra series. These games have pushed the boundaries in terms of storytelling, using an innovative and immersive “phone found” framing device.

The Lone Assassins will use the same format, immersing you in an adventure starring Petronella Osgood, Larry Nightingale, and a missing person whose identity is unclear. The setting, meanwhile, is Wester Drumlins, the iconic uninhabited house from the Doctor Who episode called Blink.

From a gameplay perspective, Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins will involve solving puzzles using the apps installed on the phone that you’ll find at the start of the game, along with snippets of found footage and other clues.

Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassin will be released in the spring of next year. You can register your interest here.
