Heavily Popular Roblox Game Adopt Me Developers Set Up New Studio, Tease Future Plans

The team responsible for Adopt Me, a Roblox game with more than 22 billion visits to date, has announced the creation of a new studio: Uplift Games.

Originally made up of just two developers, the Uplift Games team has grown to 40 people and advertises new staff across a range of departments in the UK and US.

Do you want statistics? Nope? Difficult. Adopt Me, launched in 2017, experienced 100% growth between January 2020 and January 2021, from 30 million to 60 million daily active users. Gaming revenue increased 400% last year. In April of this year, Adopt Me hit a record 1.92 million concurrent players following the launch of its Ocean Egg update.

If you’ve never played it, which is likely if you’re an adult, Adopt Me is a family game where players can explore a magical world online, build houses, collect and trade pets, and usually hang out with their friends.

Uplift Games will continue to develop and support Adopt Me. Interestingly, however, the press release hints at “future unannounced projects”.
