Kingsense is a deep tactical fighting game full of brilliant ideas, interesting characters, and clever mechanics. And if futuristic fighters and character collectors are your thing, then we’ve got good news for you, as Kingsense has just launched its global open beta.
The game is set in the aftermath of an asteroid-based disaster and sees you controlling a team of Sensates. They are human beings who have been augmented and endowed with special powers. There are over 40 to choose from, each with their own unique personality and quirks.
Battles take place on a 5 × 9 grid, and it’s up to you to find out which combination of Sensates is the most powerful. You can mix and match your team and find the best way to steal initiative from the monstrous enemies you face.
You’ll be able to unlock special outfits and gear for your Sensats to make them even more powerful in battle, as well as increase their intimacy to make them fight together as a cohesive unit. There’s loads of stuff to explore, and the enemies you fight range from horrific mutants to loud techno bots. Which is pretty awesome.
As you can imagine for a game set in the future, there is a cyberpunk aesthetic here. Lots of neon colors and sleek metal – the game looks really stunning, while keeping its own unique style in the foreground.
