Lineweight, the storytelling adventure of famous developer Cipher Prime, hits mobile October 13

Lineweight is the next game from acclaimed developer Cipher Prime, a studio that has been applauded on mobile with beautiful, inventive games like Splice, Auditorium, Fractal, and Splice.

The game is a ‘living’ narrative adventure that unfolds in five chapters, each drawing on a real-life experience with its own emotional subtext. The gameplay will allow you to slide the screen to reveal chunks of text, abstract images, and sound clips.

In the film world, Lineweight would be called ‘oscarbait’, and it has already won a few awards at the Inigo Awards 2019 and Indiecade 2019 while still in development, including gold medals for interactive design and book design, and a silver medal in the mobile games category.

It’s not entirely clear how Lineweight’s gameplay will actually perform at this point, but Cipher Prime has revealed that every “moment, word, and image is controlled by your sliding, marrying storytelling and graphic design.”

Sounds interesting, although it doesn’t really look like a game. You’ll be able to try out the lineweight for yourself when it hits the Google Play Store on October 13th.
