Star Wars: Starfighter Missions sci-fi RPG launches in Southeast Asia

Star Wars: Starfighter Missions, the sci-fi RPG based on George Lucas’ little-known Star Wars franchise, launched today in Korea, Japan and 38 other countries in Southeast Asia.

The game, which was produced by Joymax in conjunction with Lucasfilm Games, is described in the blurn as an “RPG-style mobile in-flight shooter.” It’s inspired by iconic battles from the movies, almost certainly including the one where the Death Star exploded.

80 different fighters are included in the game at launch, including the Millenium Falcon, Darth Vader’s TIE figher, and Luke Skywalker’s X-wing.

Players can form teams based on their own styles of combat in space, with each Starfighter having their own unique skills. It is possible to swap ships during battle for maximum flexibility.

We’re not quite sure when and if Star Wars: Starfighter Missions will come to the West, but if you live in Southeast Asia and love Star Wars, now is your lucky day.
